Silver Cloak Button with Gild This ornate silver cloak button with gild
#48876 was salvaged from the Corrigans wreck site by Captain John
Brandon and the crew of the M/V Endeavor during the 2001 salvage season.
Buttons of this size were generally used to fasten cloaks. Many examples
of buttons this size have been salvaged from the 1715 shipwrecks over
the years such as #37660 which was recovered from the Cabin wreck in
1996 (see figure 34). Most of the other cloak buttons have been silver
without gild. |
